Between 12 and 14, your child crosses the line from "kid who plays hockey" to "young athlete who trains for it." This is the Train-to-Train phase in long-term athletic development — the window where strength, speed, and power start responding to real training in a way they never did before, and never will quite the same way again.

This is the program that uses that window properly.

Twelve weeks. Four sessions a week. Sixty to seventy minutes each. Bodyweight and bands only. No barbells (intentionally — adolescent spines are still developing). Built on block periodization — the same model used at the NHL, NCAA D1, and elite European junior level.

What's included.

Realistic expected gains across twelve weeks:

4-8 cm on vertical jump · 15-25 cm on broad jump · 0.15-0.30 sec faster on 10m sprint · noticeable improvement in skating posture, stride length, and recovery between shifts.
